New Element Training (NET) osteoporosis  program.

Osteoporosis affects approximately 1.4 million Canadians, and affects 1 in 4 women and more than 1 in 8 men over the age of 50 years. Some of those will have evidence of a spinal fracture.

Regularly performing weight-bearing and resistance exercises including activities that use muscle strength to build muscle mass has been shown to help maintain and build up bone mass.

This is a program which includes physiotherapy assessment and treatment working in conjunction with the peripheral MedX equipment.

MedX is a very safe approach to start loading the bones throughout your body and the equipment offers a controlled load with very low repetitive impact.

Movements are slow and controlled using the upper and lower body machines. We can also load very specific areas of bone loss such as your low back and hips with the MedX machines at NET.

Our program includes a physiotherapy assessment by our licensed physiotherapist followed by a 6 week supervised program, 2-3 times per week, which includes hands on therapy and use of the MedX machines.
